OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://213.55.84.78:8082/SOURCES/.Ethiopia/.EMI/.daily/.temp/tmax/ngridtable/Y+integral/T+partial/dods')
